Why Are Mormons Called Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints?
Filed under: Business News; Tagged as: Business News, education, mormonism, Mormons, News, reference, religion, society, spiritualityComments OffSince Mormons only worship the Father and not Christ why do they call their church the church of Jesus Christ?
Again the argument comes down to that the Mormons do worship Christ but in accordance to their interpretation of the Bible, and the Book of Mormons. For those that have discrepancies or misunderstandings of the Mormon religion they will suggest reading the Book of Mormons which should clean up any misconceptions.
An interesting concept is that anti- Mormons reference to the book ofPhilippians in respect to the worship of Christ, and that a Mormon of today would not write a hymn such as that found in this book, because they are the brother to Christ. Yet the Mormons feel that this book is exact in its likening to the doctrine of the Latter Day Saints.
It would seem that the crux of the matter is that Jesus and God should not be put on the same level according to how the Christians perceive the Mormon doctrine to dictate. Whereas the Mormons refute this as not being true.
Their stance is that Jesus is the greatest of all the spirits. The whole argument is according to the Mormons is that Jesus is not God. They believe that although this is their doctrine it does not put down the holiness of Christ and the right to be worshipped.
Since the Mormons have beliefs that differ from mainstream Christianity isn’t it misleading to use the term Christian?
It will come down to the answer of this question if put forth by leaders of the Church of Latter Day Saints, as to the true interpretation and meaning of what a Christian is. The discrepancies that create the rift of this term between Christians and Mormons is the differences regarding the trinity. They are quick to point out that if one only has to believe in Christ to be a Christian then other Cults that believe in Christ should be classed as Christians too, giving the example of the Church of Scientology.
Some are of the belief that Mormons should not put so much emphasis on the term Christian and a new term should be invented to avoid the miscommunication that occurs between the Christians and Church of Latter Day Saints.
The followers of the Church of Latter Day Saints seem to be taking exception to their nickname as they call it referring to “Mormons” as opposed to the name of their Church. They may perceive this as a sign of non recognition of their religion.
In summary the concept is that the Mormons believe that Christianity should not be deemed on the Doctrine of any Church. So it would seem that the whole argument is based on what the Church of Latter Day Saints feel is not big issues such as the trinity for example. Just because there are differences on this point is not enough to deem someone as not being a Christian. The Christians of today’s society will adamantly differ on the concept that is not a main issue of their argument. It is the foundation of their belief in Christianity.
The Mormons will point out issues such as that the majority of Churchs today do not believe that we were created in the physical image of God. It would seem the discrepancies between the Mormons, aka Church of Latter Day Saints, and todays Christian is not about to be resolved until any time soon. Unless of course Christ were to return within that time frame.

The Mormon LDS Religion is a Christian Faith – Fact Or Myth?
Filed under: Business News; Tagged as: Business News, education, mormonism, Mormons, News, reference, religion, society, spiritualityComments OffThere is no doubt that many religions are challenged from that which is opposed to it. Perhaps more so about the Mormon religion which is probably based on their teachings. They are staunch and they have been around for a long period of time and the Mormons are dedicated to their beliefs.
Mormons certainly feels that they are a Christian. It has to be pointed out here that the Mormons believe that that the orthodox Christians of today are not as those of the Christians of the New Testament. Therefore the Mormons when they classify themselves as Christians revert back to the New Testament and not what the individual may believe is a Christian as of today.
The concept of the Mormon is that in order to be a true Christian one has to believe and act like Christ himself. They will want to tell you that Christ is the crux of their religion. Where the problem might set in with those of the disagreement of the Mormon faith is the concept of how they put Christ into the picture as being a man. Who eventually turned into a God and as such the Mormon men have the same capability if they reach a certain latitude of Holiness one might say.
The Mormons believe that not only must one abide by the word but must live by their actions for the word.
The religion states Mormons must become Christ like through their love and service. In support of this it should be known that the Latter Day Saints do not pay their leaders but that their services are performed by their members.
The Mormon will promote that they focus on family being a basic strength for their society. It is the families of that teach them the proper strengths of living.
It is also to be remembered that the Church of latter-day Saints believe in sealings which are the same as marriage except the differences is that it lasts for eternity.
Their theology states that everyone was born from heavenly parents or spiritual parents.
Up until this point they feel that they are very similar to other religions and find the major difference comes from their study and belief in the book of Mormons which classes itself as another Testament of Christ.
This of course for anyone who is familiar with the Mormon religion knows that it goes back to Joseph Smiths vision and translation of the gold plates into the book of Mormon. For any Mormon the book of Mormon is the ultimate rule when it comes to their doctrine although they do rely on the holy Bible for some subjects. There is no doubt in any Mormons mind that Joseph Smith actually got his direction from Christ referring to starting a new church which is the Church of the Mormons technically known as the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints and anyone that is leading the church is considered to be a prophet.

Why Are All Mormons White? Racism In The LDS Temple Church
Filed under: Business News; Tagged as: Business News, education, mormonism, Mormons, News, reference, religion, society, spiritualityComments OffFor many years individuals that were black were never allowed to hold any type of priesthood in the Mormon church. In 1978 this changed under the direction of Spencer Kimball. It is believed that when it came to the first man that was black to being accepted into the priesthood that he was ordained by Joseph Smith himself although there is no direct evidence to prove this. Elijah Abel was one such individual that had a different outlook on the treatment of minorities.
It was known that the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints were racist and their doctrines and practices supported this. The book of Mormon was not anymore supportive for minorities either however a change in it did take place after 1980. It has to be remembered that the blacks are considered to be from the evil group of Lamanites .Going back to historical times these were descendents of the Israelites and the reason that there are black was because of the evil that was within them. There have been some subtle changes made in the book of Mormon to replace the somewhat racist writings that were originally found. They are referring to the whites which have now been changed to to a pure and delightsome person.
For the anti-Mormons there is very little that anyone have anything good to say about Joseph Smith. He has been reported as being the world’s greatest con artist and nothing but a charlatan. However when it comes to his viewpoint looking back at the time span in which he lived he was really quite liberal. His thoughts however did not have any bearing on the policy of not allowing blacks and priesthood. That change took place when Brigham Young came into the picture. The Mormons will tell you that they stand on this doctrine because of what can be found in the writings of the Pearl of great Price and this is the reason that they have this viewpoint. If one is interested in seeing a book that is really controversial then they would be interested in reading the Church and the Negro This of course is a book that is not published anymore and if one finds a copy it can actually be worth quite a bit of money.
The whole concept of this particular book according to someone that actually have had the opportunity to read it was simply that the revelation that took place in 1978 stated that the time was just not right. The concept of the Mormon religion was that they had more to offer than other faiths because of being able to offer the celestial kingdom.
Almost all religions have modernized and changed somewhat to keep up the tmes. The Mormons are often criticized for their outlook because they are very conservative and they are not ones to make quick changes. It is believed those changes are slowly beginning to take place such as the place of the black individual being able to be part of the priesthood. Although this took many years to come in fact they are striving to keep their congregation together and to keep their religion alive and this may be one of the reasons why they are starting to making more changes than what they would like. Albeit as we mentioned they are very small and it is most difficult for the leaders of the church to remain conservative and yet keep their gathering happy.

Finally Revealed – Polygamy and Rape In The Mormon Church
Filed under: Business News; Tagged as: Business News, education, mormonism, Mormons, News, reference, religion, society, spiritualityComments OffOne would have to ask what all of these words in the title actually mean to one another. To fully understand the concept of this one has to take a look at Warren Steed Jeffs. This individual is a self proclaimed prophet who supposedly is a Revelator and Seer of the will of God . It is stipulated that he does this to meet his own means and there is the speculation that Jeff is the modern day version of producing false doctrine.
Jeffs was born in 1955 and is holding the position of president of the fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.. This is a group of individuals that broke off from the standard Mormon church and this apparently took place many years back when polygamy was banned and Jeff claims to be a prophet or a seer ass is referred to in the standard Mormon religion.
There are great arguments made here about how the false doctrines can lead to having perverted living and to the point where it abuses humanity. There is nothing new about the Holy Scripture being taken and twisted by evil individuals who only do so to serve their own purposes.
The standing is that there is that no where in the Bible does God ever allow polygamy or promote it. If one goes back to the beginning of time Adam was only given one wife not several. As time progressed Kings and Rulers back in those times would take on more wives but suffered the wrath of God for doing so. Their judgment was always perverted and they were poor leaders based on the polygamy and what they believed in. There is no way that polygamy could be classed as God’s will. If one wonders if this goes unpunished all one needs to do is take a look at what happened to Warren Jeffs
By 2006 he managed to be placed on the 10 most wanted list of the FBI and this was because he was hiding from the law because he didn’t want to be prosecuted. However in mid-2006 he was apprehended during a routine traffic stop and at this time faced several charges. Amongst the many of these included accomplice to rape and for arranging marriages for girls that were under age. However it must be said that there are no state records show that any marriage license was issued for young girls at the age of 13 or 14 andso far none of these specific charges have been brought against him.
Back in June 2005 Jeffs has been charged with sexual assault on a minor and several other such charges as well.
In 2006 in Britain there was a documentary carried out and the program was about the presenter who was searching for Warren Jeffs, referring to the man with eighty wives. This took place before just Jeffs hit the FBI’s most wanted list. In 2003 there was a book published regarding this spinoff of the Latter-Day Saints which is the fundamentalist mostly based on the fact of their support of polygamy. When Jeffs was found there was no doubt that he was on the run. He is being held without bail and faces many charges. All of this goes to support just how wicked Jeffs was and in the end of it all he is meeting his just reward by sitting in jail waiting to answer for all of the alleged wrong doings.
