This is one of the excellent PMP book to have in each project manager & software engineers book shelf.
Very nicely written and explained book to understand as well as prepare for PMP exam.

I had the previous version of the book and applied for CAPM certification. I used it to cover some knowledge areas, and found it very difficult to follow, as it is very closely modeled after the PMBOK, which is also more of a reference book than a study aid or guide.
The new one updates the material to the 4th edition of the PMBOK, but still manages to be too boring to keep me interested.
Would recommend Andy Crowe’s book instead. There you will really PASS ON YOUR FIRST TRY.

I have other credentials to work on and obtain before I can prep for the exam, so I didn’t even take a look at it the book. It did come highly recommended, so when I am ready I will be looking for the same book – just aligned with whatever version is the latest at that time.
